COCHABAMBA, Bolivia – When the ducks first saw the vapors rising from the freeway, the ducks that couldn’t distinguish between the heat waves rising from the pavement, and the heat waves rising from the rivers and ponds, perished.

This is one of the stories shared by Kay Wallis, Athabascan and Gwich’in elder, through the World Peoples Conference on Climate Change and the Rights of Mom Earth. During an interview recorded stay by Earthcycles, Wallis shares the beauty and majesty of her Yukon homeland.
